Visited 19 Pioneer Movement Centre Minervias Staging Area. Intreview with Col. Kent. Inspected Camps 7 to 11.

Tuesday May 30th.

Inspection of 474 Gt Coy. A Platoon D and HQ. Quick survey of new Billets JODPUR HOUSE an ANDRIA ROAD.

Wednesday May 31st

Check up on PAC, Andria and Camoza water and drainage facilities etc. Visited Staging areas Camps 1 to 6 No troops for 2 weeks/work under the Chaufley proceeding staisfactory.

Thursday

Visited 474 GT Coy arranging for drawing latrines from RES. Re-visit to staging area camps. 19 Pioneer Movement Centre for the prupose of advising on drainage and drawing off urinals and 5 gallon drums from this unit. Require unservicable Mosquito netting for fly proofing, Mess rooms Cook houses, Preparation Rooms also 20 Sodium Ariemite traps required.

Monday June 5th

Visited 606 L.O.C. REME training. Flies coming from dwelling houses of rear of workshops. Require fly traps at least 20. Re-visit to train PAC, screen reparied by 13 FSS, and more notice Boards provided (Pro Station) No 1 Section 609 Brigade from RAOC advice given on drawing of disinfectants fly proofing etc.

Visited Tranicapdi, rear. Party still occupying premises. Visit to Camosa Ceriguola Staging Camps 1 to 6.

Visit to 544 BPT coy Camrosa. instructions on use of 3 drum system for ashing of utensils. This unit also requires 12 fly traps. Cldd:- this is also going to supply us with lines for prepraration of traps. 10th Indian Engineers require fly traps 10 Sodium asemite. 474 GT Coy 1 three seater supplied by this unit for 'A' PLN also ablution bench. 1 grease trap for D PLN and 12 Sodium Asemite traps. Unit supplied materials to be distru=ibuted between platoons.

'B' PLN JODPHUR HOUSE recently occupied by Indians now are having trouble with flies. Having located place of breeding, former latrine sites not properly sealed off by Indian troops. Oil and sacking to be used for sealing off.

Re-visit to Minervois Staging Camp 19 Pioneer Movement Centre. Wooden huts being installed for preparation rooms. Cooking centre under construction for Italian troops use. It comprises of a four foot wall with Hessian screen on top.Trench fires are being built and bases foir serving tables. It is hoped that flash fires will be used.This section has sufficied as yet, 1 sia seater latrine 1 single structure for bucket system and through a litle perserverance on my part persuaded the RES to make 1 two seater and 1 three seater. 4 urinalshave also been provided. It is hoped that more will be forthcoming at least GD is required required to prevent our co-beligenrents from fouling area.
