Bedecked in our new T-Shirts, this was the first pubs after a break of nearly a month in what could be called the “Short Heath Western Arm” walk.

Me and this pub go back a long way – to school in fact. There have been many occasions here, both sad and pleasant and it was a real surprise to be here again especially as it’s been some ten years plus since my last visit, probably when Nick the Milk and my Uncle used to frequent it. And what an improvement! Clean, spacious and an excellent choice of real ale. The HPA pushed the score up to 4/5 and well deserved.
